The ‘Ways of Seeing’ was a conference with a new creative approach in partnership with artists and visually impaired people to provoke and inform audiences about access to art environments, public venues, art work and the retail sector for people with a visual impairment.
The conference was led by the research and development of the action-research projects led by disabled artists and visually impaired people in different arts and retail environments. Invited speakers will presented their solutions to meeting the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act and developing access for all visually impaired people.
The work offered audiences new perspectives, experiences and experimental approaches to accessing art works.
The conference started with a digital film of blind and partially sighted people engaging in a retail journey.
